SmartWater is now available Through Worcester City Neighbourhood Watch Assoc

This could be the most important Neighbourhood Watch message you ever receive!

We are about to embark upon a program of distributing SmartWater via Neighbourhood Watch in Worcester City at a greatly reduced cost.

Many of you will already be aware of SmartWater, and those of you who attended the Worcester City NW Assoc's AGM will have heard about it there too.

What is SmartWater?

SmartWater is a revolutionary forensic coding/property marking system that protects your home and deters burglars from stealing your property.

SmartWater is a clear fluid which is quickly and easily applied to your property. SmartWater is delivered in a small bottle which contains a brush. The SmartWater solution in each bottle contains a unique "forensic code" (like DNA), which, when painted on your property allows the item to be traced to you. SmartWater is invisible in normal light, but can be seen under ultraviolet light. All you do is put a small dab of SmartWater on to your property, and it is marked - it is that simple.

Why is this being offered through Neighbourhood Watch?

The key to SmartWater's effectiveness as a deterrent, is it's use in "clusters" of houses, as opposed to individual houses adopting SmartWater. When a cluster of houses adopt SmartWater the police will provide FREE SmartWater/Neighbourhood Watch signs to erect in the street (at the ratio of one free sign per 10 packs sold). Criminals are VERY aware of SmartWater, and the mere presence of those signs will act as a massive deterrent. This is why we are distributing SmartWater through Neighbourhood Watch schemes, as NW schemes are already in clusters of houses - if many/all of the member households of a given scheme adopts SmartWater they will be greatly reducing their chances of being a victim of burglary.

We have been distributing SmartWater through Neighbourhood Watch on Wychavon and Malvern Hills in this way for over six months and it has proved very successful.

What does it cost?

There is a considerable discount available when you purchase through Neighbourhood Watch. You will be able to purchase SmartWater through Neighbourhood Watch at a ONE OFF, FOR LIFE cost of £20 - as opposed to

the commercial rate (i.e. if purchased directly from SmartWater) of well over £40 EVERY TWO YEARS. This is a massive saving for Neighbourhood Watch.

How do I get SmartWater?

You, as a Neighbourhood Watch scheme Co-ordinator, will be able to request leaflets to distribute to the members of your schemes. You can then collate the order for your scheme, and relay that order on to the Worcester City Neighbourhood Watch Assoc, who will receive payment and arrange distribution in conjunction with West Mercia Police.

Items you can mark with smartwater

Almost anything, from a JCB to a wedding ring, electrical items such as TVs, videos, DVD recorders, sky box, freeview box, computers, art, antiques, jewellery, ornaments, pedal cycles, saddles, gardening equipment and power tools, sat-nav,tomtom, mobile phone, car.

are just a few examples.

Secondhand shops and pawnbrokers will be checking items brought into the shops, the police will also be going round car boots checking items.

Some insurance companies provide discounts for SmartWater customers; others may include SmartWater as a means of adding value to their product, creating a win-win for them and their customer.  You may want to ask your insurer if they provide a discount for SmartWater protected property.
